Daily Connect: Real Happiness - Why Don't You Practice Meditation Daily?
Submitted by Ethan Nichtern on Mon, 4/11/2011, 11:41am
Spring is here and there's no better time to take your meditation practice from passive to active, from atrophied to on fire!
For the next four weeks starting tonight, the Monday night Buddhist studies and meditation class at IDP will focus on IDP Lineage Mentor Sharon Salzberg's new book, Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation as well as the many things I have learned working with a wide range of folks on starting or restarting a committed meditation practice. You can find info about the NYC class, or Study at Home and join us virtually.
Regardless, are you ready to commit to 28 days of at least one (short) meditation session? If not, why not? We live in an era where everybody is increasingly appreciative of meditation. We all think it's great that other people meditate. But what about you? Are you ready to commit? It is possible, and it is tremendously helpful. If you can't practice daily, then please share what obstacles hold you back. Chances are, they are much more workable than you think.
