My practice today: Day 11 of The 28 Day Meditation Challenge

Noticing, naming, describing

Breath

The cats scampering around me, running fast down the hall ending in a pounce and a groan each time. They aren’t happy about me sitting here, ignoring them. They want more from me and I want more from my breath.

The experience of wanting more is often the undertone of my days.

Today my thoughts were slower than other days. I worked at not wanting more, from my body or mind.

I allow myself too feel how many times I begin to suck my belly in causing me to float off the pillow. When I allow my belly to release without the automatic mind vomit that “my belly” creates, I feel how my organs have room to settle and my lower body grounds, the lightness of my upper body happens naturally. It isn’t light as a feather, but it doesn’t need to cut itself up.
