Ever want to know where Buddhist philosophy originated? Join us for five weeks of meditation classes and study groups on the suttas and sutras, the earlier and later discourses and direct teachings that came from the historical Buddha himself. These discourses have their own teaching structure and setting, and as a group we will explore both the content of original Buddhist teachings, as well as the historical context and teaching style of these sutras.
Each class will begin with guided meditation practice by the teacher. Then, for the first three weeks, We will work both with suttas from the Pali (early Buddhist) tradition. For the next two weeks, we will work with Mahayana (later tradition) sutras from the historical Buddha.
