Deriving from the Sanskrit for "essence" and "containing," mandalas are an exploration of wholeness and completion through symbolic representation. There are many Buddhist teachings on Mandala, beginning from the earliest Pali Sutta, when the Buddha instructs a student on how to arrange and honor all the various human relationships in life.

What is the arrangement of YOUR personal mandala? Deriving a structure for life-mapping from the earliest Buddhist discourses (suttas), we will move beyond interesting theory and fascinating art, using this time together in a highly interactive way, in order to experience how the energies of our own life's mandala can be balanced and harnessed.

Join Ethan Nichtern and two Guest Lecturers anytime in this 10-Week course delving into the power and meaning of mandalas in everyday mindfulness and contemplation. The course will end with a hands-on opportunity to create a mandala - your own personal universe in microcosm.

This series will also include two guest lectures, on April 12 and 19.
