With his one of a kind blend of autobiography, pop culture, and plainspoken Buddhist philosophy, Zen priest and bestselling author Brad Warner explores an A-to-Z of sexual topics in Sex, Sin, and Zen: A Buddhist Teacher Explores Sex. From masturbation to abortion, gender identity to pornography, polyamory to prostitution, Warner explores it all.
While no puritan when it comes to sexuality, Warner offers a conscious approach to sexual ethics and intimacy. Since Buddhism is no longer the province of sequestered seekers, this is real-world wisdom for our times. "This book represents my best efforts a giving a personal Buddhism-informed view on the subject of sexuality," he writes. "It's a view informed by more than twenty-five years of serious Zen practice, as well as about the same number of years of sexual experience."
Using this own heartbreak as a staring point, Warner not only examines sexuality from a Buddhist perspective, he also looks at Buddhist topics, such emptiness, loving kindness, and karma, from a sexual viewpoint. "I've misused sexuality in my own life, and I've seen the consequences," writes Warner. "My experience with sex is that if you treat everyone involved with complete honesty and absolute respect, almost anything is possible. So have fun and don't hurt anybody, including yourself."

I can't wait to Be there!
I hope to be able to make the retreat, but if not, I will definitely be there on Friday night... Brad defies any attempts to put him in a box and make him a zen guru... every time I get too pie in the sky at my own zendo, he seems to shwo up on tour and I get a good dose of down to earth dharma that points to the dishes in my sink and the piles of stuff on my floor.
