Liberating Desire: Dharma and Sexuality
An Evening With Martin Aylward
The Interdependence Project
302 BoweryNew York, NY 10012
Fri, 10/25/2013, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
We all have a sex life, active or otherwise, alone or with others. Sex takes up a LOT of mental and emotional space in our lives, yet while dharma teachings offer profound understanding of many aspects of human experience, sex too often gets ignored, despite its potency and frequency in our experience.
Join renowned dharma teacher Martin Aylward for a provocative and powerful evening of teachings, practice, and discussion around dharma and sex, exploring such questions as:
Why do dharma teachings often ignore sex?
In which ways do you go unconscious around sex and why?
How can dharma practice wake you up in your sex life?
Might the potency and erotic charge of sexual desire be an important part of a passionate, liberated engagement with life?
Martin Aylward began practicing dharma at age 19, spending several years in Asian Buddhist monasteries and with Himalayan hermits, before founding Le Moulin, a residential meditation center in southwest France where he lives as guiding teacher. Martin's teachings emphasize transformative awakening in everyday life and ways to enliven and deepen practice in any and all circumstances. He teaches a weeklong urban intensive called WorkSexMoneyDharma, which he has led in cities worldwide such as London, New York, San Francisco, Copenhagen, and Jerusalem, and which is now running as a month-long online course. Martin endeavors to teach in such a way that wisdom and love are the same thing.
You can learn more about Martin, hear recordings of his teachings, and find information about his international teaching schedule at www.MoulindeChaves.org, the website of the center where he lives, as well as MartinAylward.com and WorkSexMoneyDharma.com.
