The Dharma of Difference: Awakening in Diverse Community
So, here we are. Sharing this world, this city, this contemplative community. With people we know and people we don't know. People we like, people we don't like -- and people we don't even notice. People we share backgrounds and interests with. People with whom we have almost nothing in common. All of us. Together.
Anger is the most compelling and therefore the most challenging of all human emotions. When under the fiery influence of anger, we’re more likely to act hastily and engage in speech and behaviors that cause harm to ourselves and others. Yet in the heat of the moment it’s so easy to be reactive and allow this poisonous mind state to dictate how we think, feel, and behave. By making friends with anger we can be less likely to suffer or cause suffering to others whenever it comes to visit.
Join Kimberly Brown and Lawrence Do’anGrecco as they reveal the ways in which we can learn to harness the powerful energy of anger. By training ourselves to recognize anger in all of its forms we can be empowered to work with anger so that it doesn’t work us.
