Meditation in Central Park with Maho Kawachi
In person Half day Retreat at Central Park
Saturday September 16th (rain date Sunday 17th) 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
Half day of tactile experience of body, mind, and urban nature. Based on mindful meditation and movement. Even though we live in a big city, if we look around, we can find a lot of elements from a natural universe. Participants are invited to practice meditation in the park, connecting heart/mind/body with the rich source of urban/ancient nature. We will practice in a functional silence throughout the day. To keep the event direct and personal experience, max participants number will be 12.

8:45am-10:30am: Morning Practices, Movement, and Discussions
10:30am-10:45am: Break
10:45am-12:20pm: Morning Practices, Embodiment, and Discussion
12:20pm-12:30pm: Reflection and Sharing
What to Bring: yoga mat or something to lay on the ground, something to sit on (meditation cushion is ideal), snack and water

Meet the Instructor
Maho Kawachi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She landed in NYC in 1992 and made the city her home. Her training as a meditation teacher includes Interdependence Project, MMTCP (Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach), MMTP (Cloud Sangha) etc. Currently, she teaches at Open Heart Project (under Susan Piver), Year Long Buddhist Study @ Dharma Moon (under Ethan Nichtern), and volunteers at Rikers Island for female inmates.
