01Why we exist
Most research stores try to cover every industry on earth. That breadth comes at a cost: a plant manager looking for cement grinding capacity forecasts ends up wading through cosmetics and pet food. We took the opposite decision. The ID Project covers four connected sector groups and goes deep inside them.
Those groups are industrial and heavy industry, construction and infrastructure, manufacturing and process industries, and the machinery, materials and equipment that serve them. They share the same economics: long asset lives, capital budgets set years in advance, exposure to steel and energy prices, and buying decisions made by engineers rather than marketers. A catalogue organised around that reality is faster to search and easier to trust.
02What we do
We license and distribute syndicated research from independent publishers, and we commission bespoke studies when nothing on the shelf answers the question. Every title in the catalogue is listed with its publisher, publication date, page count, licence options and table of contents, so you know exactly what you are buying before you buy it.
- Report discovery. Search by market, application, region, publisher or forecast horizon, with free abstracts and sample pages on request.
- Recommendation service. Send us the question you are trying to answer. An analyst returns a shortlist with samples, usually within one business day, at no cost.
- Custom research. Scoped studies for market sizing, competitor benchmarking, supply chain mapping and commercial due diligence.
- Enterprise access. Multi seat licences, annual subscriptions and procurement friendly invoicing for teams that buy research regularly.
03How we vet publishers
Aggregation only works if the underlying research holds up. Before a publisher joins the catalogue we review their methodology statement, sample deliverables, revision policy and analyst credentials. We check that market sizes are built from a stated base year with a documented approach, and that primary interviews are genuinely conducted rather than implied. Publishers who cannot evidence their method do not get listed. Read more on the Research Partners page.
04How we work with buyers
We do not run a hard sell. Our job is to shorten the distance between your question and the document that answers it, then get out of the way. If the right answer is a competitor’s report, we will say so. If a study is two years stale for a fast moving segment, we will flag it rather than take the order.
Clear pricing, licence terms in plain language, no auto renewing subscriptions, and a named contact for every order over a single user licence.
05Who we serve
Our buyers are strategy and corporate development teams at equipment manufacturers, procurement and category managers, EPC contractors and building product suppliers, private equity and corporate finance teams running diligence, and consultants who need defensible third party numbers in a deck by Friday.
Have a question the catalogue does not answer? Talk to us or ask about custom research.
Not sure which report you need?
Send us your criteria and an analyst will come back with a shortlist and free samples, at no cost and with no obligation.
