The problem it is meant to solve
Shippers moving product across multiple carriers and regions currently have to integrate with each sensor vendor’s proprietary data format separately, multiplying integration cost every time a new lane or partner is added. The proposed standard defines a common schema for the underlying telemetry, leaving vendors free to differentiate on hardware and analytics rather than data format.
